October 2011:

  • Listened to Paul Ham (Hiroshima Nagasaki) at 'Writers at Stanton'

  • Attended the book launch of Michael Kirby's memoir, A Private Life

  • Became a board member of the FCA

  • Attended the EGM of the Foreign Correspondents' Association (FCA)

  • My two articles were published in the newsletter of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers (ANZSI)

  • Attended the National Young Writers' Festival in Newcastle

November 2011:

  • Attended the seminar 'The Business of Digital Rights', which was organised by the Australian Publishers' Association (APA)

  • Listened to Peter FitzSimons speak about his Mawson biography at Mosman Library

  • Coordinated a lunch for local ASA members

  • Attended 'Obama Briefing' held by the United States Studies Centre and the FCA

  • Attended the monthly meeting of the Fellowship of Australian Writers NSW at Warringah Library

  • Attended the monthly meeting of the Northern Beaches Writers' Group

  • Listened to Peter FitzSimons at Stanton Library, where he presented his new book, Mawson and the Ice Men of the Heroic Age: Scott, Shackleton and Amundsen; Peter mentions me in his books

  • Listened to Peter Hartcher (SMH) at Stanton Library

  • Attended the Board Meeting of the FCA

  • Attended event of the Society of Editors (NSW) about editors and social media

  • My article about the 'Indexing for Editors' seminar was published in the Blue Pencil

December 2011:

  • Trip to Germany (flew with the A380)

  • Supported Peter FitzSimons and Richard Glover's one-on-one interview world record (ABC 702) by cheering a lot on Facebook

  • Attended the Christmas party of the ASA

  • Editor and tutor Deb Doyle launched my photo book, Write, Publish & Market Your Own Book in Australia, in Manly (speech). Singer/song writer Leighton B Watts played live music, first print-run sold out; second one started (they are small print runs)

  • Attended the Christmas party of LexisNexis Global; the CEO bought the very first available copy of my book

  • Attended the Christmas party of the Mosman Community College

    • Attended the board meeting of the FCA

    • Attended the Christmas party of the Society of Editors (NSW)

    • Visited the exhibition Handwritten: Ten Centuries of Manuscript Treasures at the National Library of Australia and listened to Elisabeth Niggemann speak about the German National Library
