April 2010:
Joined the audience of the ABC's Q&A
Enjoyed a long weekend near Shoalhaven
Joined seminar about children's books run by the Society of Editors (NSW)
Went to the committee meeting of the Society of Editors (NSW)
Completed the "Professional Editing" course run by Deb Doyle at the NSW Writers' Centre (8 weeks)
Went to the announcement of the winner of the Finch Memoir Prize at gleebooks
Went to the announcement (shortlist) of the NSW Premier's Literary Awards
Went to event about book cover designs run by the Society of Editors (NSW)
Met literary agent in the Blue Mountains
Joined a course about funding for authors run by the ASA
May 2010:
Attended the launch of The Lowy Institute Poll 2010: Australia and the World, Public Opinion and Foreign Policy
Enjoyed research exercises with the Fast Twitch Writers' Group at Circular Quay
Had a marvellous night out to see the colourful lights in Sydney Harbour and along Macquarie Street (Vivid Sydney) and dine at the Spice Temple - organised by Tourism NSW
Loved the Sydney Writers' Festival, not hated it a bit this year; wrote an article about it with ideas for improvements
Listened to an update from Tourism Australia about travellers from the Western hemisphere in Australia
Joined the committee meeting of the Society of Editors (NSW)
Enjoyed a terrific weekend in Peats Ridge, incl. Ridgestock
Attended the AGM of CAL
Joined literature event with Alan Baxter and Bill Congreve organised by the Society of Editors (NSW)
Went for a walk and a swim at Cronulla
Re-published DRINKS, DICKS & DIARIES. It has a new cover.
June 2010:
Enjoyed the launch of Peter FitzSimons's memoir, A Simpler Time, in Peats Ridge
Joined the website development group of the Society of Editors (NSW)
My course at the Mosman Community College (from 26.7.2010 for six weeks) about how to write, publish and market your book was advertised
